About Us
Based in Leicester City within The Childrens Social Care & Community Safety team, you will be responsible for strategically leading in framing and developing social care elements of the SEND strategy across the local authority, in compliance with legislative requirements of the SEND Code of Practice (2015).
You will have flexibility in hybrid working being both office-based at Halford house or working remotely from home to suit your needs. This is a full-time fixed term post working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday for 12 months.

What You'll Be Doing
This strategic role is accountable for developing strategies, action plans, and processes which support the SEND reforms agenda to become embedded within social care operations and practice. Contributing to and influencing SEND organisational design and assisting in the development of 0-25 Children & Young People with Disabilities Service and its policies.
Supporting and driving the development of high-quality services to children and families regarding Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP), and associated processes in line with local policies and procedures and within regulatory and statutory guidelines.
You will analyse complex and varied work strands across functions, services, and agencies in order to identify and develop opportunities for co-production, as well as integrated working between Social Care, Health, and Education to progress the SEND reforms agenda.
Working collaboratively with social care directors and service managers to ensure social care meets statutory responsibilities under the Children and Families Act (2014) and Care Act (2014), and to drive forward organisational culture change aligned to the SEND reforms.
This role requires an enhanced DBS.
What You'll Need
With substantial experience of working with or within the SEND, Education, or Children's Sector, you will have experience of coordinating multi-agency work to support children using formal outcome-focused plans. Applying an evidence-based approach to practice such as Signs of Safety. Being able to work jointly with a wide range of people at a variety of levels, including senior management and politicians.
