Job overview
We are recruiting for one permanent Dental Nurse.
We are inviting applications from those without the Radiography training and candidates would start as a band 4 before progressing to a band 5.
This role is a great opportunity to be part of our busy, dedicated and passionate multidisciplinary team who delivers restorative, orthodontics and maxillo facial treatment.
If you are well organised, have an understanding of evidence-based practice and can use your own initiative as well as work well in a team, we want to hear from you.
You should be able to lay out, clear and reset dental equipment, ensuring that all infection prevention and effective control measures are met. Also be able to organise your own workload to give timely and appropriate care, recognising when appropriate to share.
You will be supported by the Senior Dental Nurses, Dental Nurse Specialists, Registered General Nurses and the multidisciplinary team to undertake all relevant aspects of dental nursing and patient management, and act in an accountable manner, adhering to relevant codes of conduct and Trust policies.
Main duties of the job
1. Act in a supportive, informative and sensitive manner towards patients, relatives, visitors and colleagues at all times.
2. Act as a role model demonstrating high standards of holistic care and provide clinical leadership in relevant clinical areas.
3. Be able to communicate with a variety, adapting styles of communication to meet the needs of patients, relatives and carers, managers, peers and other professions/agencies.
4. Using initiative to generate solutions within own and others’ practice to enhance care and treatment.

* Inclusion on the GDC register for Dental Nurses.
* Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
* Certificate in dental radiography for band 5 role.
Knowledge
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
