Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the full lifecycle of planning projects, from initial concept through to completion, and provide support on larger, more complex projects.
* Offer expert strategic planning advice to clients, ensuring adherence to local and national planning policies and regulations.
* Prepare and submit detailed planning applications, appeals, and development proposals, ensuring all documentation meets required standards.
* Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, stakeholders, and clients to negotiate and secure necessary planning permissions.
* Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental evaluations to inform development proposals.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior planners, cultivating a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
* Keep up-to-date with changes in planning legislation and industry best practices to offer timely, informed advice to clients.
Requirements:
* A degree in Town Planning or a related field.
* Chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
* Proven experience in a senior planning role, gained in a consultancy, local authority, or a similar environment.
* In-depth knowledge of the UK planning system, including relevant policies, legislation, and regulations.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
* Proficiency in planning software and other relevant tools.
