We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Business Support Manager to join our team with the necessary skills to manage and improve business operations.
This is a vital role within the Education, Leisure and Lifelong Learning Directorate and the successful candidate will be required to provide the strategy and resources for the Business Support service functions across the Directorate in line with the Directorate’s key objectives.
Main Duties:
* To provide strategic direction in the implementation of business planning and governance arrangements across the Directorate, including Strategic and service improvement Plans and Corporate Performance Management information and scrutiny/cabinet reports.
* To provide a source of expert advice to the Education Management Team on the Authority’s and Directorate’s business risk management processes.
* To be the directorate wide strategic lead on digital service transformation.
* To be the designated Complaints Officer for Education, Leisure and Lifelong Learning Directorate.
* To provide strategic coordination in respect of all Freedom of Information requests/Subject Access requests received in the Directorate, providing advice and support and liaising with relevant services in relation to the responses.
* To ensure that effective two-way communication methods are in place and that all employees receive relevant information in a timely manner.
The successful candidate will be required to have substantial and relevant experience of business support services at a professional level in a large organisation and substantial recent management experience.
Essential Qualifications:
Experience of planning, developing and implementing policies, procedures and processes across a wide range of topics within an equal opportunities environment.
Knowledge of best practices in business support services processes and procedures, including digital transformation.
Ideally, the successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent with the ability to lead senior officers through difficult corporate processes with clarity and purpose.
