Richmond House is an 8 bedded community High dependency, highly specialist rehabilitation hospital for women with a history of offending/challenging behaviour who have learning disability (LD) and other conditions including autistic spectrum disorders, personality disorders and mental illnesses.
We are looking for an experienced HCPC Registered Forensic Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist with Forensic experience.
Main Duties:
1. To undertake specialist clinical duties contributing to assessment and treatment of patients.
2. To provide Psychological Therapies for patients with personality disorder/mental disorder/intellectual disability and complex trauma, developing specialist psychological formulations and assessments of patients with complex presentations, formulating plans for treatment and implementing specialist psychological interventions for individuals and groups.
3. To provide specialist psychological assessments of patients based on appropriate analysis, interpretation, and integration of complex qualitative and quantitative data.
4. To administer and interpret assessments of cognitive and emotional functioning as required and to assist the multi-disciplinary team in diagnosis, problem formulation and the planning/development of an appropriate treatment plan.
5. To plan, implement, and evaluate individual and group treatments, informed by formulations of patients’ problems based on appropriate theoretical and therapeutic models and best practice guidelines.
Essential:
1. You will be registered with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist and preferably be BPS Chartered.
2. You will have experience of and/or an interest in rehabilitation and the recovery of patients in a forensic setting.
Desirable:
1. To have clinical supervision training.
2. To have training in two or more distinct psychological therapies.
3. To have skills in individual and group work and in program planning.
4. To have skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment to inform the psychological formulation and intervention.
5. To have well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information.
