Senior Support Worker - Hurworth, Darlington (Specialist Service)
Base/Location: Rockliffe Court, Hurworth, Darlington
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Rota based, working days, evenings, nights (sleepovers) and weekends.

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within SJOG for an experienced Senior Support Worker to support a specialist residential home for adults with autism and associated conditions.

Our autism practice model is based on academically approved standards, and is aligned with autism good practice and national guidance.
Your will be responsible for providing the day to day shift lead support for people with autism in a residential setting. The aim of this role is to provide hospitable, compassionate and respectful support; and to ensure that people with autism can positively live and achieve their outcomes in a community close to their families and friends. The Senior Support Worker will practice by promoting the principles of Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture (CQC, 2020) and promote a strength based approach at all times so that people thrive. The Senior Support Worker will take a lead role in leading and organising shifts and ensuring the team meet high quality and compliance in their practice.
Key attributes:
* You will have the ability to talk confidently about autism and demonstrate your knowledge in practice.
* You will have a sound knowledge and understanding of Positive Behaviour Support principles and practice.
* You will have experience of monitoring support planning so that it remains current to people’s needs.
* You will have experience of working co-productively with people with autism, families and professionals.
* You will be able to lead the team when the manager is not present and ensure that standards are sustained at all times.
* Work flexibly on a rota basis along with colleagues/management team.
* You are solution focused and able to remedy situations quickly.
Key criteria:
* You will have worked within a senior position withat least 1 years’ experienceof working and managing a similar service/team.
* You will understand the quality and compliance requirements of a residential care home.
* You will have knowledge of the Transforming Care Programme and the importance of positive cultures.
