Digital Forensic Services are vital to helping our officers combat crime, protect the vulnerable, enable safer communities, and make a difference that really matters.
Thames Valley Police is making a multi-year investment in our Forensic Investigation Unit and is transforming our wide array of forensic disciplines, particularly digital forensics, to create a forward-looking, accredited service that delivers proportionate timely services supporting effective crime investigation for TVP and other external organisations.
As part of this transformation, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Digital Portfolio of Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU) as a Multimedia / Forensic Audio Visual Technician.
Reporting to the Forensic Multimedia Operational Supervisor, you will be responsible for the forensic preservation, recovery, enhancement, and presentation of evidential multimedia.
The successful candidate will have:
1. Experience of working with audio and video material
2. Knowledge of audio and video principles
3. Experience with editing, enhancing, or video production software
4. Collaborative approach to working with others across the forensic portfolio
5. Ability to engage with accreditation requirements
6. Flexibility to travel across the force to attend scenes (Full UK driving licence required)
Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.
This role will include shift work and, at times, some lone working.
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake the established psychological screening process.
