Teacher of Performing Arts (Music and Drama)
Grade: TMS/UPS (TLR available for a suitable candidate who can lead music)
Lyng Hall is a successful and inclusive school with good outcomes for pupils. We pride ourselves on removing barriers to learning through our core values: passion and ambition. We are ambitious in our goal of delivering a world class education to all pupils.
The Trust is seeking to appoint an innovative and highly motivated performing arts teacher to join a strong and enthusiastic performing arts team where teachers are committed to delivering a high quality, lively and interesting curriculum to challenge and inspire all our students. Our performing arts staff currently deliver music and music technology from years 7-13, drama from years 7-9 and performing arts (including dance) from years 10-13, so there is scope for flexibility with which performing arts subjects are delivered.
Our vision for performing arts is ambitious. We have hosted the National Youth Orchestra and are a member of Belgrade Theatre Associate Schools Programme, taking over the theatre at least once a year. Productions and performances are very well supported and highly ambitious, with a winter variety showcase and a summer production. In the last few years we have put on We Will Rock You, Our House and Fame in the school’s theatre.
Lyng Hall is supported by and proud to be part of Finham Park Multi Academy Trust. As part of the Multi Academy Trust, we enjoy working in collaboration with the other MAT schools. This provides fantastic opportunities for both our staff and students.
Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality teaching in music and drama.
2. Inspire and engage students through innovative curriculum delivery.
3. Contribute to the planning and execution of performances and productions.
4. Collaborate with other staff members in the performing arts team.
5. Support the personal development of students.
