Park Signalling combines technology design and consultancy with specialist knowledge and product development to enhance the service life of train control systems and equipment. With a range of products and solutions for monitoring signalling assets, Park Signalling uses digital technologies to deliver performance improvements for heavy and light rail networks and signalling systems globally. We are now recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer - Mechanical to join our busy engineering team based in Stockport. The main purpose of the role will be t o make ready processes and tooling required for the production of Park Signalling Ltd (PSL) products, and manage the production lifecycle of those products through the management of change, acting as the change control agent to interface with the engineering stakeholders and design authority. Key responsibilities of the role include: Review new product build pack information and ensure that it is correct and fit for purpose, to ensure PSL develops safe, efficient processes that create the highest quality products, per the requirements of the RAMS deliverable. ● PFMEA input being the advocate of the manufacturing team. ● Prototype build review, feedback voice of manufacturing team. ● Lead pilot builds and reviews. ● Identify improvements within manufacturing to optimise productivity and capacity in line with business needs, whilst ensuring maximum safety and quality levels are achieved. ● Design and produce (in-house or outsourced) production tooling. ● Create and update drawings within the Drawing Office repository, for tooling and products as needed to support projects and production updates. ● Collate manufacturing information into build packs for distribution to sub-contract manufacturers, and support the sourcing team in forming query responses. ● Train production staff in the new product SOPS, and organise training with the relevant development team to ensure the best transfer of knowledge and understanding suited to the particular product. Audit Processes against prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS), to support compliance and continuous improvement activities. ● Escalate issues to the management team promptly and with clarity. (Speak with data) ● Support the management team and project managers with role-related input into the planning of new projects, including examples of estimates for task duration, equipment, and tooling needs. ● Stay up to date with technology and best practice processes, following technology trends that can add value to PSL and help generate an advantage over our competition. Candidates will have a minimum qualification of HNC/D in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and will ideally hold an IOSH/NEBOSH ‘Working Safely’ qualification or equivalent. Candidates will be able to demonstrate proven experience in a relevant role/environment as well as having demonstrable experience designing and producing production tooling. Candidates will be able to understand change control, in relation to products and processes, and how to ensure they align to industry best practice, and will have experience of creating 2D/3D drawings and maintaining existing designs with full version control.
