Are you handy with tools and confident behind the wheel of a minibus?
We are Matthews Enterprise Trust, a charity under the Avocet Trust Group, and we are looking for someone just like you to join our team.
Our mission is to provide a supportive day service that promotes life and employment skills for vulnerable adults.
We help build self-esteem and confidence through education, training, and hands-on activities.
Our Preston site spans six and a half acres, complete with a large greenhouse, animal enclosures, and spaces for carpentry, rural crafts, and metalworking.
We are seeking a General Maintenance Programme Worker to support the smooth running of our farm-based activities and transport services.
While experience in social care or supporting vulnerable adults is a plus, it's not essential; what matters most is your practical skills and a can-do attitude.
As our General Maintenance Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
* Carrying out general maintenance tasks across the site, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
* Driving our minibus to transport clients safely to and from activities and events.
* Assisting with events held on the farm, including setting up equipment and supporting activities.
* Participating in tasks related to gardening, catering, and arts and crafts.
* Supporting clients in day-to-day activities, empowering them to develop life and employment skills.
What We're Looking For:
* A full, clean driving license with the appropriate qualifications to drive a minibus.
* Strong general maintenance skills; you're comfortable fixing things, managing small repairs, and keeping our site in top shape.
* Experience in gardening, metalwork, woodwork, or arts and crafts is highly desirable.
* Previous experience in social care or supporting vulnerable adults is desirable.
Why Join Us?
This is more than just a job; it's a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others while working in a dynamic, outdoor setting.
You’ll be part of a supportive team that values creativity, independence, and community.
If you have the skills and enthusiasm to thrive in this role, click APPLY today and send us your up-to-date CV. We're excited to hear from you!
No agencies, please.
