Location – Glasgow Charles Street West Coast Motors is a privately owned family business established in the early 1920's. We operate buses and coaches on a mix of school contracts, local services, school and private group hires across Argyll with local depots in Campbeltown, Ardrishaig, Oban, Mull, Bute and Dunoon. We are looking for a Full Time Bus and Coach Mechanic based at our Glasgow Charles Street depot to help maintain our fleet and ensure we operate to the highest possible standards. Main responsibilities include: Vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet (including MOT preparation) Prompt repair of all defective vehicles to the highest standard in a timely and cost-effective manner Ensure vehicles are maintained in accordance with the Company’s Operator Licence The ability to organise daily workload, communicate effectively and work flexibly The ability to work to the highest Health & Safety standards Requirements for the role: You will be energetic, self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and thrive within a challenging yet rewarding environment You will have at least an SVQ Level 3 in Bus and Coach Engineering and Maintenance qualification (or an equivalent international qualification). If you don't have a qualification, you should have at least two years' experience repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles which you will need to evidence The role will be 5 days over 7 A driving licence is required and PCV licence would be good to have, however we can help you get your licence Salary/Benefits: A permanent, secure job Competitive rate of pay based on qualifications and experience (£18.59/ hour) Overtime for 6th day paid at time and a half (£27.73/ hour) 30 days paid holiday Free travel for you and your family Ongoing training Company pension Development and career opportunities If you have the drive and determination to succeed in this role, we would love to hear from you.
