The position will be London/Southern based. The key responsibilities of this role will include Installation and Commissioning of Adtran equipment, Access, DWDM and Ethernet and associated racks and cabling at customer locations Commissioning to include configuration of equipment, establishing DCN for network management, full functional testing, acceptance testing and completing client handover documentation Fault Finding and problem diagnosis, preparing reports and feedback to Adtran Technical Services, Engineering and Operations Provide onsite technical support when required, working solely or under direction from Technical Services Role requires full mobility (company vehicle will be provided) and will require weekend and out of hours work Supervise or work with Adtran Service Partners when required Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures A willingness to travel extensively with occasional overnight stays Other tasks and responsibilities Create detailed LLD/RAMS/SFD for bespoke projects Assist with staging of equipment Provide training to contractors/subcontractors Other duties as assigned Knowledge, skills and experience required Experience: Installation and Commissioning of DWDM and Telecommunications Equipment preferably for a Carrier Installation and Commissioning of Ethernet equipment Installation and Commissioning of Access equipment Installation of equipment cabinets Working in Telephone exchanges, data centres and cell site environments including street cabinets Installation of DC cabling at customer sites from EOS to suite line and cabinet Installation of DC cabling within cabinets and connecting at PDU Installation of fibre optics hydra cables within customer sites Handling Fibre Optics Dealing with customers Skills: Sound engineering skills Good communications skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Visio Knowledge: A good understanding of Optical transmission, DWDM systems including ROADM and Optical amplifiers Optical path testing loss and dispersion measurement Transmission testing Ethernet including VLANs Ethernet testing and certification Fibre channel IP and SNMP Power supplies AC and DC Safe Installation Practises Good general understanding of telecommunications Education / Qualifications: ONC/ HNC in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent relevant qualification Safecontractor or equivalent Health & Safety training Full driving license Physical demands Involves manual handling Scope of employment Fulltime / Permanent DBS check and Level 3 Security Clearance will be required (Adtran to arrange) Primary location of job London/Southern based Compensation & Benefits 26 days holiday public holidays Company pension scheme (salary sacrifice) – 7% Company contribution Healthcare cover for employee and spouse/children Life Assurance 4 x salary Private Health Insurance to cover for serious illnesses (after 2 years continuous service) Employee Assistance Programme Cycle Scheme and monthly gym allowance
