Job Description:
Next Sourcing
Salary: £44,000
Next Sourcing are at the heart of finding, developing and delivering the products our customers love, wear and use every day. Located both in the Next Head office and across the globe, our Next Sourcing teams specialise in all different parts of the sourcing operation, from design and technology to product development.
Our Designers here at Next are always looking forward. Looking for that next thing, focusing on trend and pushing the boundaries of what we can offer our fantastic customer base. Working as a key part of the critical path; creating new and innovative designs across Womens Dresses - casual and formal ranges (wovens and jersey base).
We are looking for an experienced Designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Looking to elevate and push designs for womenswear, you will have a strong understanding of trends and factories. Knowledge of where we source different fabrications would be desirable.
The role:
Researching the latest trends relevant to various customer profiles, then communicating this information to your team and senior managers is a key part of this role. We would ask you to produce trend-led, elevated designs that tastefully represent and reflect the customer brief, always looking to push this further. Day to day, this could be working with internal teams in Next - working on briefs and building those all-important relationships. Travelling to factories to see product on the line and visiting inspirational destinations for shopping trips is also essential. Building relationships with the territories is paramount with this role, as well as being confident in your designs and vision.
About you:
We would love you to have previous experience with a selection of countries from a supplier base. A great taste level and a real passion for the latest trends and how to translate these in a tasteful way to your designs, whilst having an enthusiastic attitude and being a team player. A high level of experience and proficiency in creating designs and tech packs using Adobe Creative Suite - from initial trend concepts to final tech packs would be necessary for this role. Confident communication skills and the ability to manage an Assistant Designer are essential. Experience working across Womenswear is essential to this position.
The team:
You would be joining an amazing team whose enthusiasm for design and elevation is the main focus. A wealth of experience across multi-fabrications and innovative progression is one of the many plus points of joining this team!
Your benefits:
We’ll discuss more of what you’ll get when you work for Next at interview, but here’s an overview of what you can expect:
* Profit–related bonus
* 25 days holiday and the opportunity to buy more
* Contributions into a pension scheme
* Life assurance
