Job Title Service Delivery Manager - Software Asset Management Location George House Employment Type Full time Contract Type Permanent Hours Per Week 37.5 Salary Competitive salary plus benefits Category Infrastructure Closing Date 27 December 2024 Overview As the Service Delivery Manager for Software Asset Management (SAM), you will be working within Asda's Service Operations & Infrastructure Technology directorate, reporting into the Head of Function. You will be responsible for establishing, operating, and continually developing Asda's SAM practice. This role requires a deep understanding of IT asset management principles, a strong focus on compliance, and a proven ability to lead and collaborate with both internal and external teams. Key Responsibilities Strategy Development and Execution: Define and implement the overall SAM strategy, ensuring alignment with Asda's broader IT strategy. Develop and maintain a comprehensive SAM roadmap, including short-term and long-term goals. Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and prioritise SAM initiatives. Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the SAM function, including software inventory, license compliance, and contract management. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal performance. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant software licensing agreements and industry standards. Conduct regular audits to assess software usage and identify potential risks. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate software license risks. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with software vendors and licensing partners. Negotiate favorable licensing terms and conditions. Oversee the procurement and deployment of software licenses. Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of SAM professionals. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members. Required Skills and Experience Proven experience in software asset management, preferably in a large, complex organisation. Strong understanding of ITIL processes, specifically configuration management and service delivery. Expertise in software licensing models, including volume licensing, subscription licensing, and cloud licensing. Proficiency in SAM tools and technologies, such as Flexera, Snow Software, or ServiceNow. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A passion for driving operational excellence and cost savings.
