We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Factory Manager to lead CNC machining operations in Cumbria. As Factory Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the production process, including team management, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing production team.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Conduct performance reviews and provide regular feedback.
Identify and develop talent within the team.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee all aspects of CNC machining operations, ensuring efficient and effective production processes.
Optimize production schedules and workflows to maximize output.
Minimize downtime and maximize equipment utilization.
Quality Control:
Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures.
Ensure adherence to strict quality standards and customer specifications.
Drive continuous improvement in product quality and consistency.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
Lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
Drive innovation and process optimization within the production environment.
Health & Safety:
Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
Conduct regular safety audits and implement necessary corrective actions.
Performance Management:
Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), such as production output, efficiency, and quality.
Prepare regular reports on production performance and identify areas for improvement.
Budget Management:
Contribute to the development and management of the production budget.
Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as a Factory Manager or Production Manager within a CNC machining environment.
In-depth knowledge of CNC machining processes, equipment, and tooling.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Experience with relevant software (e.g., CAM software, ERP systems).
