We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our team. The role will be full-time on a permanent contract, within a fast-paced environment in our Glasgow Head Office. Reporting to the Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance and administrative functions of our business.
Duties Include
1. Matching, checking, and coding invoices.
2. Processing monthly and weekly supplier and subcontractor payment runs.
3. Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details.
4. Reconciling supplier statements and maintaining good relationships with suppliers.
5. Reconciling credit card statements.
6. Filing invoices and maintaining accurate financial records.
7. Verifying change of bank details via phone and paperwork for suppliers.
8. Maintaining the asset register for all IT and mobile equipment provided to staff.
9. Dealing with utilities and general office maintenance tasks.
10. Acting as the first point of contact for phone calls and general business enquiries.
11. Covering other accounts staff during annual leave, including processing weekly payroll and assisting with purchase orders.
12. Performing other ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements and Skills
1. Proven experience in accounts administration or a similar role.
2. Familiarity with accounting software and tools (e.g., Sage).
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
4. Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
6. Strong communication skills and a professional demeanour.
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
