Structured Cabling Engineer - Data Centre - 6 Week Contract Role: Structured Cabling Engineer (Contract) Contract Duration: 6 Weeks Start Date: 6th January 2025 Location: Wiltshire Summary A national consultancy has won a program of work in Wiltshire for a leading cloud infrastructure client, which will involve the installation of up to 1,900 roll-in cabinets across 15 data halls, requiring a team of engineers to contribute to the delivery within a 6-week timeframe. This role will be 5 days a week onsite in Wiltshire, 12 hour shifts, with a 6 week duration. The Role The entire scope of the project will involve the installation of 1,200-1,900 populated roll-in cabinets across 15 data halls. Responsibilties Include: Conducting long-line patching and plug-and-play fibre installations. Following detailed patching schedules and cabling plans. Plugging directly into equipment as per the cabling schedule. Ensuring all work adheres to safety and quality standards. Program Details: Engineers will work 12-hour shifts (8am-8pm or 8pm-8am). Shifts include day or overnight work continuously over the 6-week period. Competitive rate. Requirements: Previous experience in data center installations. Understanding of patching schedules and fibre installations. Familiarity with copper and pre-term fibre cabling. BPSS clearance (or willingness to obtain before the project start date).
