Are you a Construction or Procurement Lawyer seeking a new challenge?
Centred around the maintenance and regeneration of power facilities, this multidisciplinary company is looking to expand its expert legal team with the addition of a Senior Solicitor whose specialism lies within the energy sector.
Covering the whole spectrum of legal disciplines, this team focuses on regulatory matters in particular. Energy and power facilities are the focal point of this business and therefore this role. With jurisdictions spanning Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland, this team’s work has a real impact on this corner of the world.
This won’t be your typical in-house role, as this isn’t your typical company. Operating on a very close-knit basis with little focus on hierarchy, they value the opinions of each individual in the business, and as a result, they consider communication and confidence to be extremely important. They’re after an assertive and dynamic legal professional to join their team and reap the benefits of working collaboratively by learning from one another and fluidly expanding their skillsets.
Your responsibilities as a Senior In-House Solicitor will include:
1. Providing ideas, advice, and solutions relating to a wide range of construction, procurement, and commercial contracts.
2. Supporting the wider legal team on a range of matters, including contractual disputes, litigation and arbitration, internal governance, and approval processes; coordinating with the compliance, risk, and finance teams.
3. Managing projects from inception to completion: receiving briefings, drafting contracts, taking the lead on everything from documentation to strategising any issues that may occur.
4. Dynamic stakeholder engagement: working with individuals at all levels of the business, including the CEO, to formulate solutions and advise upon any legal matters within your remit.
5. Reviewing policies and procedures: keeping track of new legislation and researching applicable legal issues that affect the company, advising them on the implementation of required legal amendments to policies and procedures.
For this Senior In-House Solicitor role, you will ideally have:
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience within construction or procurement law, ideally in-house and within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
* Experience advising on and drafting FIDIC and MF/1 contracts.
* Good commercial acumen and a pragmatic approach to decision-making and problem solving.
* Confidence to advise and collaborate with colleagues and business leaders, utilising strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to prioritise, coordinate, and manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
If you’re an experienced solicitor intrigued by the idea of changing your career for the better and immersing yourself in a team that values expertise over binary and hierarchy, let us know.
