MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY: The following list of duties and responsibilities is intended to reflect the principal elements of the Site Manager’s role only and is therefore not exhaustive. General Read, understand, and comply with the Company Policies and Procedures at all times. Ensure the correct processes are in place and being implemented to achieve project completion within cost and time parameters, to the required quality standards, striving for zero defects. Health & Safety Ensure that Company Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures are strictly adhered to. Ensure that all staff, sub-contractors, and visitors to the site are appropriately inducted. Carry out Daily Activity Briefings. Forward plan proposed work activities on site to ensure Health and Safety is fully considered. Produce and keep up to date the Site Waste Management Plan (SWMP) for the project. Monitor the Health, Safety, Security, Housekeeping and Welfare standards on site and take corrective action where necessary. Maintain up to date Health & Safety records for the site, this should include all statutory inspection registers. Issue Permits to Work (Permits to dig, Hot Works Permits etc) and ensure they are signed off upon completion of the activity. Assist with Safety Audits and Stand Downs as required. Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported to the H&S Manager, Operations Manager and Regional Director immediately. Review and comment upon Sub-Contractor RA/MS making sure any comments have been addressed by the sub-contractor prior to works commencing. Quality Ensure that all work undertaken on site complies with the current construction issue drawings, specifications, contract documents and building regulations etc. Carry out inspections in line with the Project Quality Plan using all relevant ITPs and Checklists as identified on Fieldwire. Ensure all checklists and ITPs are fully completed with all necessary information recorded. Highlight any quality issues to the relevant sub-contractor and issue non-compliance notifications where necessary. Ensure all quality issues are closed out in a timely manner and are recorded. Liaise with all necessary third parties such as Building Control and client Clerks of works etc to ensure all works are inspected and reviewed in a timely manner. Ensure any issues highlighted during these inspections are corrected and closed out. Complete the weekly site diary. Programme Produce short term programmes based around the main project Contract / Construction Programme Review progress on site against the programme and highlight any delays to the Project Manager / Senior Site Manager Management of Sub-contractors Attend Pre-Let Package meetings with subcontractor / package contractors. Conduct weekly look ahead meetings with subcontractors to review past programme performance and agree short term programme targets. This is to include a review of necessary material procurement and resource requirements. Conduct coordination meetings with subcontractors to ensure works are executed efficiently. Client Manage the relationship with the client to the best effect. Assist and if required, manage the process of project post completion. Cost Ensure cost effective production in line with budgets by ensuring that the work is undertaken is in full accordance with the cost provision allocated Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities. Attend Project Review meetings and understand/act on items with a financial implication. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT SKILLS Ensure your team are fully skilled and trained to do their role, including Health and Safety process and procedures. Actively manage employee performance. Ensure roles and responsibilities for your team are clearly defined and understood in order to manage expectations and accountability. Manage employee relations in the moment and be pro-active with the management of people related issues, dealing with them fairly and consistently. Continually champion the development, training and ongoing education of the team. Carry out regular one-to-ones and performance reviews to support the employee’s growth and development needs.
