Alstom has an impressive history in the UK dating back to the dawn of the railway, involved in significant rail transportation infrastructure projects such as HS1 and the London Underground.
Every day, around a third of all rail journeys in the UK are made on Alstom trains. We service over 100 tube trains a day on London’s Northern Line, carrying nearly 1 million passengers daily. We’re also helping to turn Crossrail’s tunnels into a fully operational railway.
To help design, build and maintain the UK and Ireland’s large-scale rail infrastructure, we have invested in the world’s most sophisticated engineering and rail technology, including Train Scanner and Appitrack.
We provide world-class development and training facilities for our employees and invest in long-term skills development through partnerships with the UK’s best education providers.
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity to join a world-leading engineering company where you will work alongside qualified technicians between our maintenance facilities in Golders Green and Morden.
Based at our Golders Green depot, you will learn about and support the maintenance of our underground rolling stock operating along the Northern Line. Your daily activities will involve learning about and supporting operational activities around maintaining the underground Rolling Stock.
Over a 2-year program, our Apprenticeships combine academic college studies with real-life work-based experience. You will build and gather evidence of your competence while working towards a formal qualification.
You will undertake a planned rotation within appropriate departments to gain the skills and competence required. Attendance outside of standard work patterns should be expected.
