At Apsley Healthcare, we are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team, supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Physical Disabilities, and Complex Needs in residential homes.
Responsibilities:
1. Personal and Emotional Support: Assist clients with daily living tasks, including help with personal care, hygiene, and maintaining dignity at all times.
2. Promote Independence: Encourage and assist clients in developing essential life skills, such as communication, decision-making, and problem-solving, to enhance their independence and quality of life.
3. Engagement and Interaction: Support clients in engaging with community activities, hobbies, and social interactions based on their interests and capabilities.
4. Behavioral and Emotional Support: Monitor and address any behavioral challenges in line with individualised support plans, helping clients manage emotions and fostering a supportive, understanding environment.
5. Health Monitoring and Reporting: Administer medications according to established protocols, and accurately document any changes in health, mood, or behavior, communicating updates to the appropriate staff.
Qualifications:
1. Right to Work in the UK: All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
2. Experience: A minimum of 6 months of experience in healthcare or support work, ideally with individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, or similar needs.
3. Background Check: Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service. (If you do not have a DBS, we can assist in arranging one for you.)
4. Mandatory Training: Up-to-date mandatory training is required. (We can help facilitate this if necessary.)
