Commercial Accountant
Location: Alloa, Scotland (Hybrid Working Policy)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE) + Benefits
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Accountant to join GreenPower Developments Ltd. This role will work closely with key stakeholders across the business, playing a vital role in financial planning and analysis while supporting strategic decision-making. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking and dynamic organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drive financial planning & analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, KPI tracking, and financial modelling.
2. Collaborate with operational and development managers to oversee and manage budgets effectively.
3. Provide commercial insight and support for new business ventures, including hydrogen and electric vehicle (EV) projects.
4. Build strong relationships with budget holders and business leaders.
5. Offer financial and commercial analysis to support business decisions and process improvements.
6. Assist in financial modelling for new projects, acquisitions, and existing sites.
7. Support corporate activities such as acquisitions, restructuring, and legal entity setup.
8. Assist in vendor contract management, including tendering exercises and due diligence.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional with a strong commercial mindset. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with non-financial stakeholders to provide valuable financial insights.
Essential Skills & Experience
1. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
2. Proven experience in financial planning & analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
3. Strong financial modelling skills, including scenario analysis.
4. Experience working in Commercial Accounting, partnering with business leaders and budget holders.
5. Strong knowledge of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and KPIs.
6. Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate large datasets and create financial models.
7. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
8. Experience in financial reporting tools and business partnering.
Desirable Skills & Experience
1. Experience in the energy or construction sector.
2. Exposure to project management environments.
3. Familiarity with financial management software such as SAGE Intaact.
4. Experience in procurement, tendering processes, and vendor management.
