Mercedes-Benz Apprentice Programme | Up to £38,900 + Car | Training Team Lead
Calex is a specialist training and consultancy organisation contracted to a number of market leading automotive manufacturers. We are currently seeking to recruit an Apprentice Programme Training Lead responsible for managing a team of Trainers based in Milton Keynes.
This role will report directly into the Training Delivery and Quality Manager and the successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operational line management of the training delivery team based at the Mercedes-Benz Apprentice Academy in Tongwell, MK.
The successful candidate must possess existing line management experience, including staff scheduling, performance management, performance reporting, and presentation skills.
Note: Automotive retail, training delivery and development, and apprentice programme experience is highly desirable, but not essential.
The Apprenticeship Programme is responsible for the development of hundreds of apprentices across the Mercedes-Benz Car, Van, and Truck retail networks in the UK.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work with the policies and procedures as set out by Mercedes-Benz Apprenticeship Academy.
* Manage the daily training schedule for apprentices attending the Apprenticeship Academy.
* Lead and support the team with mandatory training and development (CPD).
* Ensure training schedules are updated and maintained with available trainers and competencies to cover the academy's requirements.
* Arrange and conduct skills and knowledge assessments of apprentices and provide technical support for the EPAO as required.
* Provide monthly data and reporting for Operations meetings, apprentice progression, and intervention plans.
* Promote equality and diversity legislation in line with policy, ensuring a safe working environment.
* Maintain own Continuous Professional Development in line with role requirements.
* Ensure effective use of resources with an emphasis on sustainability.
* Promote the welfare of apprentices and commitment to their safety in education.
Working With:
* Development Coach Lead to ensure ongoing apprentice advancement and welfare.
* Safeguarding Team to plan and implement apprentice support requirements.
* Quality Team to ensure all training meets standards set by Mercedes-Benz and relevant requirements.
Team Responsibilities:
* Manage and support the Academy Training Team through weekly meetings and annual appraisals.
* Liaise with the Training & Quality manager on training and development needs.
* Ensure policies and procedures are followed for a safe learning environment.
* Monitor apprentice training records for accuracy.
* Mentor and support new team members during their induction period.
* Provide additional cover for apprenticeship training within own discipline as required.
This is not an exhaustive list of duties; other tasks may be performed as needed by the business.
Essential Personal Qualities, Qualifications & Skills:
* Proven experience in a similar leadership role (Essential).
* Recent Mercedes-Benz brand or retailer experience (Highly Desirable).
* Experience operating within an apprenticeship programme training environment (Highly Desirable).
* Experience delivering and/or developing training using various platforms (Highly Desirable).
* Level 3 or equivalent Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (Desirable).
* Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Experience and/or Professional Qualification (Desirable).
* Technical Training and/or Coaching experience (Desirable).
* Recognised teaching qualification (Desirable).
* Management or Leadership qualification (Desirable).
* Maths & English GCSE Level 4/C or above (or equivalent) (Highly Desirable).
* Outgoing, enthusiastic, and confident personality with a desire to engage with people.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to communicate with various levels within an organisation.
* Maintain a professional manner at all times.
* Pro-active ‘can-do’ attitude.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Essential).
Normal Place of Work: Mercedes-Benz Apprentice Academy, Delaware Drive, Tongwell, Milton Keynes, MK15 8BA. Monday to Friday.
Salary: Up to £38,900 DOE + Company Vehicle.
Employment Status: Full Time (Monday to Friday).
