My client is seeking a Policy and Reward Officer to support the Policy and Reward Manager in developing and implementing People Services policies and strategies, including Trade Union Facilities, Job Design, and Pay and Reward, aligning with the People Strategy and organizational goals.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing comprehensive corporate People Services Policies, Trade Union facilities, Job design and evaluation, Pay & Reward, Engagement, and Consultation to support the People Strategy.
* Support the development of strategies for HR Policy, collective bargaining, Job design, Pay & Reward, Engagement, and Consultation.
* Conduct research and contribute professional input to develop strategic priorities supporting the People Strategy and organizational direction.
* Lead policy development on employment-related issues, promoting agile and innovative working practices.
* Support the implementation of job design, evaluation, and total pay and reward strategies, and lead the practice for the organization’s pay and reward structure.
* Facilitate Trade Union engagement and support recognition of collective bargaining agreements.
* Create reports for presentation to senior management and committees as directed by the Policy and Reward Manager.
* Undertake research to inform policy, pay, and reward activities.
* Manage special projects, including procurement, assigned by the Policy and Reward Manager.
Key Skills and Experience
* In-depth knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and equalities legislation applicable in large organizations.
* Experience in developing HR policies/guidance in complex environments.
* Experience working with Trade Unions, including consulting, influencing decision-making, and collective bargaining.
* Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive HR policy and strategy implementation.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Experience leading HR projects successfully.
* Knowledge of Job Design, Job Evaluation, and Pay & Reward strategies.
* Understanding of local government and public sector employment conditions.
* Experience developing HR learning resources for staff.
