OCU Group are currently looking for an Electrical Improver to join our team in North Wales. The Electrical Improver will support electricians and electrical engineers in various tasks related to electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs. They will assist in the installation of wiring, fixtures, and equipment, as well as troubleshooting electrical issues and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Duties and Responsibilities: Assistance with Electrical Installations: Assist electricians and electrical engineers in the installation of electrical systems, wiring, lighting fixtures, outlets, and other electrical components. Follow instructions and guidelines provided by senior electricians to ensure accurate and safe installation practices. Handle and transport tools, materials, and equipment to work locations and assist in setting up work areas. Cable Pulling and Terminations: Assist in pulling and securing electrical cables through conduits, raceways, and cable trays, ensuring proper routing and organisation. Assist in terminating cables, connecting wires to switches, outlets, panels, and other electrical devices according to wiring diagrams and specifications. Testing and Troubleshooting: Assist in testing electrical circuits, systems, and components using testing equipment such as multimeters, voltage testers, and insulation resistance testers. Assist in troubleshooting electrical faults, identifying issues, and implementing corrective actions under the supervision of experienced electricians. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues. Follow electrical codes, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements. Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to supervisors and assist in implementing corrective measures. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, time spent, and tasks completed. Complete and submit work reports, timesheets, and other documentation as required by the company or client. Assist in maintaining an inventory of tools, equipment, and materials, and report any shortages or deficiencies to supervisors. Skills and Experience: Previous experience in an electrical trade or construction-related role is preferred. Basic understanding of electrical principles, terminology, and practices. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team. Physically fit and able to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working at heights. Willingness to learn and develop new skills under the guidance of experienced electricians. Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards work.
