SEND Teaching Assistant – Sunderland Location: Sunderland Salary: £85-£108 per day – Pay scale dependent on experience Contract: Full-time, Term-time only (Temporary to Permanent opportunities) Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Are you passionate about supporting neurodivergent students and those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Sunderland. This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and learning difficulties in an educational or youth work setting. The Role: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND Implement tailored learning strategies and interventions Assist with classroom activities, ensuring an inclusive environment Support students' emotional regulation and social development Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals Requirements: Experience working with neurodivergent students or those with SEND (ASC, ADHD, learning difficulties) Strong behavior management skills – firm but fair approach Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff A patient, compassionate, and proactive mindset Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, Psychology, Education, Youth Work) – desirable but not essential Why Join Us?
