Job Title: Service Engineer
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
Location: Horley, Surrey
Job Purpose:
As a part of the service department, the Service Engineer is responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing faults, and resolving issues related to Heat Pumps, Solar (PV and Thermal) systems, and associated equipment installations.
The role includes the provision of a company-assigned vehicle for business use. Service engineers are required to maintain cleanliness, safety, calibration, and operational functionality of their assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment. Additionally, adherence to company uniform standards is expected, with provided uniforms and PPE.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Understand, identify, and resolve issues with installed systems.
2. Perform routine service and maintenance visits, optimising system efficiency.
3. Investigate and diagnose breakdowns, attending to faults promptly.
4. Conduct initial inspections of systems as arranged by the service administrator.
5. Undertake plumbing and electrical repair work onsite when necessary.
6. Identify manufacturer faults and facilitate warranty claims.
7. Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, clients, manufacturers, and suppliers.
8. Ensure availability of necessary tools, equipment, and parts for jobs.
9. Maintain van stock and cleanliness, replacing stock as needed.
10. Leave sites clean, tidy, and in a safe operational state.
11. Perform system tests before departing from site.
12. Complete and return visit paperwork, detailing work completed and any further actions required.
13. Prepare written reports on findings when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
14. Provide out-of-hour (OOH) support to clients as per agreed rota.
15. Stay updated on relevant industry standards and manufacturers' requirements.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:
22. Valid driver's license with no more than 3 points.
23. Desire to learn about renewable energy systems.
24. Good knowledge of UK Building and Water Regulations.
25. Understanding of heating system flushing, inhibitors, and additives.
26. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in plumbing.
Electrical qualifications.
27. CSCS Card, WREG, G3, Part L Energy Efficiency, F-Gas certifications.
28. Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical installation/operation of renewable energy systems.
29. Familiarity with equipment models and manufacturers used by the company.
