We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Manager to join our team, responsible for the management, development and delivery of child care services, leading a team of professionals to provide nurturing care for children in a safe and stimulating environment in line with DHSSPS minimum standards for children under the age of 12.
Duties
* Plan and manage the implementation of a daily routine which addresses the individual needs of children, using a variety of play and learning opportunities.
* Manage a staff team and promote a positive team spirit, encouraging staff members to work collaboratively.
* Supervise staff members, arrange regular team meetings, and facilitate appraisals as required.
* Offer support and supervision to students and volunteers placed in designated settings.
* Provide written reports including Social Services case reviews, evaluation and Transition Forms.
* Manage a service that works in partnership with parents/carers, ensuring a welcoming environment that supports their role in the care and education of their child(ren), including those with additional needs.
* Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Manage daily activities and routines in the nursery.
* Utilise experience working with children to create engaging and educational experiences.
* Implement early childhood education practices.
* Drive children to and from activities when required.
* Provide leadership and guidance to support the development of young minds.
Experience
* Previous experience in childcare is essential.
* Level 5 Leadership for Children's Care Learning and Development or working towards Level 5 or equivalent or NVQ III Early Years Care and Education and willing to work towards Level 5 or equivalent.
* 2 years experience in a formal early years setting in a paid, voluntary or training/placement capacity.
* Proficiency in English is required.
