Role: Nursery Cook
Area: Leytonstone
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Hours: 10am to 2pm (Mon to Fri)
Role Summary:
Our client is currently looking for a nursery chef to work with the team to ensure balanced organic and healthy meals for the children and to maintain good kitchen and hygiene standards.
Job Details:
1. To prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals daily for the children
2. To monitor and review menus, suggesting changes as necessary
3. To ensure all children’s dietary requirements are catered for in line with parental and medical guidance
4. To supervise lunchtimes, encouraging children to try a variety of foods
5. To ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and tidy
6. To ensure all food and hygiene regulations are adhered to
7. To order catering supplies and cleaning materials as and when required necessary for the fulfilment of the role, ensuring use is monitored to reduce any unnecessary costs
8. To purchase general items as and when required by the nursery
9. To maintain and record appropriate records, including stock records and adhering to budgetary requirements
10. To ensure all kitchen equipment is sterilised
11. To be familiar with and adhere to the nursery’s policies and procedures at all times
12. To be responsible for Health and Safety
13. To communicate with parents, staff and visitors in a friendly and effective manner
Requirements:
1. Must have Level 2/3 Food Hygiene
2. 1 Year minimum experience
3. Ability to manage a kitchen & support staff
4. Excellent Communication
