Flimby Primary School is a vibrant village school at the heart of the community. Nestled by the sea and the railway and once home to the many coal pits in the area. The school will soon be 150 years old and in September 202 we joined the Changing Lives Learning Trust which is enabling us to continue to grow and improve for our children, families and community. We are looking for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprentice with a caring nature and excellent communication skills to join our team. Role Description Undertake a range of responsibilities to support learning, e.g. supporting literacy and numeracy work Assisting children and young people to make a successful transfer between educational establishments and transition at key stages in their learning Work with students, either one-to-one or in small groups, some of whom may have special educational needs Assist in developing and maintaining effective and supportive mentoring relationships with children, young people and those engaged with them Contributing to the identification of barriers to learning for individual children and young people and provide them with a range of strategies for overcoming the barriers Assist in accessing specialist support services for children and young people with barriers to learning Rate of pay £6.40 per hour Hours of work Monday - Friday 8.30am-4.30pm Qualifications Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and Maths Benefits
