Role Overview
Reporting to the Build Manager, you will be responsible for leading your team of Cable Technicians with the pre-enablement of existing fibres, splicing, and final end-to-end testing. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and working closely with other departments to ensure projects are successfully delivered.
Responsibilities
1. Maintaining all daily objectives set by the Build Manager
2. Main focal point for all direct labour and subcontractors for problem-solving
3. Determine the resource requirements for the completion of all works
4. Assign roles, tasks, and responsibilities to complete all tasks
5. Close working relationship with the Build Coordinator for accurate recording of all workstreams
6. Management/supervision of all operatives, subcontractors, and associated plant
7. Management and liaison with the QC team for the accurate recording of all pictorial evidence, supplied by the subcontractors and direct labour
8. Regular reviews of project status ensuring all options have been considered and evaluated to improve construction performance
9. Challenging the commercial team to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective approach is used to deliver outstanding projects
10. Promoting near miss and Positive Intervention NCN reporting
11. Strong leadership with employees on site
12. Efficient communication and engagement with the supply chain
13. Control of site environmental issues
14. Development of strong team working relationships
15. Ensuring all project KPIs and KPMs are achieved
16. Uploading documents to company systems in line with business requirements
17. Developing accurate project programmes for weekly updates
18. Ensuring compliance with procedures through weekly/monthly returns
19. Cost risk management and early identification of problematic issues on site
20. Ownership of projects, costs, programmes, documentation, site activities, and procurement
21. Weekly submission of information, including weekly timesheets, material sheets, and plant and site checklists
22. Collection of data for Divisional coordinators including scheme drawings of layout, sections, and construction details
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
1. Experience working and supervising fibre engineers on Virgin Media contracts (desirable)
2. NRSWA accreditation to supervisory level (essential)
3. PIA accreditation - K8 and SA001 (essential)
4. Passive Optical Network build understanding
5. Valid UK driving licence held for 2 years or more with no more than 6 points on licence (essential)
6. Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values, and culture

13. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Outlook/Word/Excel)
