Sustainability Co-ordinator
£42,000 – £48,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 6A)
Manchester city centre, in this role you’ll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and the office.
We’re looking for a Sustainability Co-ordinator to join our Co-op. In this role you’ll support the delivery of our pan-Coop sustainability strategy. You’ll support the Head of Sustainability and the Sustainability Manager with the ongoing management of a wide range of sustainability activity, working with key stakeholders across the whole of our business.
You’ll need to be a great communicator, as well as having a genuine passion for sustainability. If you do, this could be a great opportunity for you to gain fantastic exposure across the Co-op while making a real positive difference within the business and beyond.
What you’ll do
1. Support the Sustainability Manager to deliver our pan Co-op sustainability strategy, delivery plan and cross-functional workstreams, making sure that all activity aligns to our core goals.
2. Co-ordinate sustainability ‘hub and spoke’ activity, facilitating accurate reporting on workstream progress.
3. Monitor sustainability projects and goals across different projects, seeing that progress is on target and that deadlines are met.
4. Build and maintain cross-functional relationships across Co-op with those who contribute to the delivery of our sustainability strategy.
5. Connect with external stakeholders to build knowledge and understanding of market insight and innovations to support the ongoing debate about sustainability legislation and government support.
6. Support the Head of Sustainability with the ongoing facilitation of the sustainability leadership forum.
7. Influence senior stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the plan.
8. Promote Co-op’s sustainability efforts amongst Co-op colleagues through regular internal communications, including the development and launch of mandatory training.
9. Compile sustainability reports and present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders in the business, up to exec level, using data and insights to underpin your conclusions.

7. Strong general IT skills with the ability to use programmes in Microsoft365 comfortably (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
