A leading Jewish Charity is looking for a Family Support Worker with Counselling experience to work a 3 day week across North London.
The role of Family Support Worker will be visiting and supporting the wellbeing of the family carers of survivors of the Holocaust.
This role is a 3 day a week (the applicant can choose what days they work) on 9-5 hours paying £19,500 per annum.
You will be travelling to visits to support Carers of family members offering them advice and support, increasing their networks and peer groups, giving them an opportunity to talk through their experiences looking after their family member.
You will also be key in supporting Carers who have been affected by their family members' experience of the Holocaust as intergenerational trauma is extremely common in these circumstances.
Your Key Duties will be to:
* Provide emotional and practical support for family carers
* Run group meetings, support groups, and training and wellbeing sessions
* Signpost all available resources, support, and provisions
* Respond to incoming enquiries from new members and their Carers
* Liaise with different departments where needed and use correct pathways for referrals
The Family Support Worker must have the following:
* Full UK Driving License and Vehicle - to travel to visits and groups
* Experience working in Social Care with families and/or dementia and Carers
* Qualification in Counselling
* Understanding of the Jewish Community, the Holocaust, and the effects on survivors and next generation family members
* Empathy, passion, and understanding personality
