Are you an HR professional with a passion for delivering impactful HR solutions? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and want to make a real difference in the educational sector? Wigan and Leigh College is seeking a talented Senior HR Advisor to join our forward-thinking HR team!
What You'll Do:
1. Collaborate with College Managers and Staff: Provide day-to-day HR solutions and support, helping to resolve HR issues and deliver exceptional results.
2. Lead Key HR Projects: Be the driving force behind important HR strategies, projects, and policy development that directly impact our staff and the broader college community.
3. Be a Trusted HR Advisor: Deliver professional advice on HR procedures, employment matters, and terms & conditions of employment.
4. Champion Employee Well-being: Take a central role in shaping employee engagement and well-being initiatives that make a difference.
5. Supervise HR Operations: Oversee HR administration and provide guidance to the HR team while supporting the Head of HR in executing critical HR strategies and processes.
6. Make an Impact: Provide advice on Employment Law, conduct performance management, casework and absence management meetings as well as guide managers through complex HR matters.
What We're Looking For:
1. HR Expertise: You’ll bring your sound generalist HR experience to the table, coupled with a strong understanding of employment law and best practice.
2. Strong Communication Skills: You'll be able to confidently advise and communicate with staff and managers at all levels.
3. Proactive and Results-Driven: Your ability to prioritise competing tasks, manage deadlines, and stay organized will ensure our HR team runs smoothly.
4. Confidentiality and Initiative: With your strong administrative skills and a keen eye for detail, you’ll ensure that sensitive information is handled with discretion and support systems are in place to deliver HR excellence.
5. Professional Development: Whether you're already CIPD qualified or working towards it, you'll bring your expertise and a commitment to continuous improvement and the College will support your continued development.
Essential Requirements:
1. Qualifications: Ideally CIPD qualified (or a commitment to working towards).
2. A Strong HR Background: Experience in delivering HR services and understanding HR policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
3. Casework: Strong experience as caseworker on a range of HR matters including absence management, performance management, discipline and grievance.
4. Projects: Be motivated to be involved in and lead on projects that make an impact across the College to our staff and students.
5. Versatility: Ability to adapt to the varied and changing needs of the college and the HR department.
