This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to begin their career within the world of insurance at Howden working as a Junior Claims Executive.
As a Junior Claims Executive, you will learn the fundamentals of claims management while assisting the wider team in delivering excellent service to our clients. With full training and support, this role will provide you with a solid foundation for a successful career in insurance.
This is a hybrid role; you will work 2-3 days a week from our Birmingham office, with the remaining time spent working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the management of the claims process from start to finish under the guidance of experienced team members.
2. Liaise with clients, brokers, insurers, and other stakeholders to support the smooth handling of claims.
3. Support claims handlers in investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and settling claims.
4. Develop an understanding of insurance policies, coverage types, and claims procedures.
5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of claims activity.
6. Assist in preparing reports and presentations on claims performance and outcomes.
7. Support senior team members with administrative tasks as needed.
8. Participate in regular training and development sessions to build your knowledge and skills.
Skills & Attributes:
1. Willingness to learn and develop new skills in the insurance sector.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
5. Enthusiasm and a proactive approach to work.
6. Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
7. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Qualifications:
GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent). A levels (desirable, but not essential). No prior experience in insurance is required, as full training will be provided.
