Galvan is seeking a Garment Technologist to join our production team. The Garment Technologist will be responsible for ensuring Galvan garments are produced to our design, customers, and manufacturing requirements in the highest possible quality. The Garment Technologist needs strong communication skills to coordinate between the Galvan team and our factories to find solutions for any issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the production processes, including garment construction, grading, and pattern cutting.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring wearing tests and dry cleaning tests are performed during sampling, considering fabric and finishings.
* Working alongside the atelier to understand and translate requirements into production specifications.
* Measuring all SMS and PPS samples prior to each fitting.
* Following up pattern amendments made at all fittings, checking patterns and grades prior to sending to factories.
* Taking ownership of the product quality and spec from launch to ex-factory. Preparing PPS tech packs, re-issuing lay plans if required, fitting, finishing comments, and checking grading specs.
* Updating and tracking any changes for each collection SKU (BOM, Lay plans, Model file, Measurements), dealing with issues to ensure that customer needs and design objectives are met at all times.
* Fitting and approving final pre-production size sets comments and measurements for pattern cutters and grader prior to sending out for production.
* Following the critical path to ensure that deadlines are met, flagging issues and communicating changes to the team.
* Maintaining consistent quality and fit across all collections, updating and introducing standards and procedures.
* Regularly monitoring and reviewing grade rules and increments with Ecom and Wholesale teams, alongside market research.
* Visiting factories with the Prod team to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
* Assisting with QC and AQL sign off.
* Weekly updating of style production tracker.
* Seasonal review with design and sales team on fit requirements and finishing.
* Managing quality feedback to appropriate action that implements improvement.
* Visiting Galvan stores to review the latest delivery of production garments and ensure quality delivered is as expected per collection.
The ideal candidate will have experience with working on both Fully factored and CMT productions. Print and embroidery experience is preferred, and the candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
