Job summary We are looking to recruit an experienced therapist to join the CAMHS Getting More Help team based at Viscount House in Stockton. The successful candidate will hold an RMN or equivalent mental health core qualification and current professional registration. In addition they will have be a fully accredited Therapist in one of the 4 main Therapies: Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Systemic Family Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and or Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Please note that although this post is advertised as a band 7, we will consider applications from therapists who are in the process of completing their accreditation in their chosen therapy and who do not yet meet the essential criteria for a Band 7. They would undertake the post at a Band 6 initially, with a supportive plan for development and progression in due course. The successful candidate will be a valued member of the Multi-disciplinary team within the CAMHs Getting More Help Team providing assessment and support to the children, young people and families who access the service. Main duties of the job Carries own caseload, providing specialist psychological therapy in own field to clients within the team and where necessary, across the locality. Clients have a broad range of presentations including a significant proportion of complex cases. Provides specialist psychological assessment of clients with mental healthconditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources to establish suitability for a particular psychological therapy and recommending alternative treatment or interventions as appropriate. Responsible for recognising the potential for or signs of client harm, abuse or neglect, including poor clinical practice, reporting all such concerns and taking all reasonable steps to protect the client. Responsible for identifying and reporting concerns regarding the safeguarding of others who may be at risk. Undertakes risk assessment and risk management for individual clients. Formulates plans for specialist psychological therapy in own field based on an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence-based practice. Collaborates on the development and the implementation of such plans with clients and significant others as appropriate Implements specialist psychological therapy in own field for individual clients,carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as required.
