The post will be a full time Band 6 position, fixed term secondment, for 12 months. Main duties of the job Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Theatres Directorate are seeking a highly-motivated, enthusiastic band 6 Recovery Practitioner for its elective theatre recovery suite situated within the main theatre department at the Royal Gwent Hospital. The successful candidate will need to hold a valid nurse/ODP registration with the NMC/HCPC. Main theatres at RGH consist of 9 operating suites with different specialities that also include satellite theatres which are located around different areas of the hospital. We have theatre departments on four sites within ABUHB flexibility will be required as the post holder may need to support or work at other sites when required. This Practitioner will need to have a dynamic attitude to enable them to act as support to the Recovery team lead and to assist with managing the recovery workforce. They will be required to take charge of the Recovery department and the team in the absence of the Recovery Team Leader. They must possess exceptional interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and have experience of managing a team. The ideal candidate will have substantial recovery or theatre department experience or have significant experience working within a similar clinical environment. You will be expected to act as support to the Team leader, Senior nurse and Directorate Manager in development of the recovery team to support ABUHB in providing safe, quality patient care whilst also meeting the requirements of clinical futures.
