RWE Supply & Trading ("RWEST") is a leading European energy trading company and top tier global employer. Our diverse and dedicated team of experts has been representing the RWE Group on the global wholesale markets for energy and energy-related raw materials and services for more than 20 years.
Knowing with whom you trade is key to conducting a clean and successful business, avoiding legal liability and maintaining a good reputation. RWEST therefore applies robust KYC procedures to its business partners. In addition, RWEST also serves as the KYC Hub for the whole RWE Group.
In this role, you will play a key leadership role in driving the KYC strategy, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements while leveraging technological advancements, including AI and automation to optimise processes. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including technology, data, and compliance teams, to enhance efficiency, mitigate risks, and ensure regulatory adherence. This is a unique career opportunity for strategic thinkers and those with experience in IT development and transformation to elevate the KYC technical setup to the next level and enhance onboarding procedures across the RWE Group. In this role, you will report to the Head of Compliance of RWEST.
Your role
* You will lead and develop the KYC team based in Swindon/UK, fostering a culture of compliance, innovation, and operational excellence.
* You are supported by two Functional Leads who report to you (one responsible for KYC Operations and the other for KYC Technological Advancements). The Functional Leads are overseeing a pool of KYC Analysts conducting the day-to-day KYC work as well as supporting technological developments.
* You will develop a strategic outlook on how to take the KYC processes to the next stage, including technological advancements, in particular automation and artificial intelligence.
* You will partner with and act as a senior representative towards the Group Compliance department and internal stakeholders (such as Compliance, Risk, Technology, and Operations) to enhance KYC frameworks and drive strategic initiatives.
* You will develop, implement and monitor state-of-the-art management information and reporting tools (e.g. in the form of a KYC performance matrix).
* You will drive digital transformation initiatives to streamline KYC processes while maintaining compliance with global regulations.
* You will ensure that the RWEST KYC team follows the necessary policies and procedures and observes stringent compliance with applicable laws and regulations, especially from an Anti-Money Laundering and sanctions perspective.
* You serve as a bridge with cross-functional senior management both within RWEST and globally across the wider RWE organisation. You will also work closely with external partners, vendors, and regulatory authorities to ensure best-in-class KYC solutions.
* You will educate and train teams on emerging trends, AI capabilities, and compliance obligations within the KYC landscape.
Your powerful skills
* You have proven leadership experience in KYC, compliance, or related fields within financial services, fintech, or banking.
* You have extensive experience with organisational and IT transformation and implementation of new technological processes.
* You have experience in AI-driven KYC solutions, automation, and RegTech tools and are familiar with the latest technological developments including AI tools.
* You have a strong understanding of global regulatory requirements including a solid knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering requirements and KYC procedures.
* You have a strong leadership and strategic vision with a track record of building, leading, and empowering teams while driving innovation and operational excellence in KYC and compliance functions.
* You have strong stakeholder management and relationship management skills with experience working in cross-functional and matrixed environments.
* You have excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with a forward-thinking approach.
* You have the ability to translate compliance needs into technological solutions and collaborate with tech and data teams.
* You are self-motivated, pragmatic, and confident working independently and effectively managing a broad range of complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field; certifications are a plus.
What we value most is passion, willingness to learn and a determined and resilient work ethic. So, even if you think you do not yet display all of the skills above we would still like to hear from you.
Further we welcome applications from individuals who may not be able to commit to full-time roles. At RWEST, finding the right person for the job is our top priority, and we are willing to explore flexible arrangements.

We offer an environment where working is meaningful, respected and supported, as well as competitive terms of employment, excellent benefits, and an open and collaborative work environment. Besides, you will benefit from:
* Opportunity to lead and shape the future of KYC in the compliance landscape.
* Work at the intersection of compliance, technology and AI, thus driving innovation.
