About the Role:
Powys County Council is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join the Care and Support Team. The successful candidate will provide a social work service to individual children and young people, ensuring their safety and enabling them to reach their full potential.
The role involves working as part of a team, undertaking tasks on a duty rotational basis, and providing cover for absent colleagues. The ideal candidate will be able to foster and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and partners to ensure effective team working.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing a social work service to individual children and young people, focusing on keeping them safe and enabling them to achieve their full potential.
* Working as part of a team, undertaking tasks on a duty rotational basis, and providing cover for absent colleagues.
* Fostering and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and partners to ensure effective team working.
* Identifying risk issues in relation to the circumstances of individual children and ensuring safeguarding measures are in place to minimize risk.
Requirements:
* Hold a relevant qualification in Social Work (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or BA/BSc in Social Work).
* Have a valid Enhanced DBS Check.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
