School ICT Network Manager Kensington Full time / Permanent ASAP Start Salary is negotiable dependent on experience Responsibilities will include: Network management: • Configuring, installing, and maintaining the school's network hardware and software (including the servers, switches, cabling, internet routers, and Wi-Fi access points). Security: • Implementing security measures and ensuring compliance with data protection requirements and industry regulations (such as anti-virus, firewall and web content filtering) • Create an IT disaster recovery plan (DRP) by developing a set of strategies, procedures, and tools to recover the school’s IT systems and infrastructure if a disaster were to occur. • Internet filtering: Monitoring and administering the school's internet filtering systems. • Updating and ensuring relevant licences are in place for software and IT services. • Data backup: Creating and maintaining a system for backing up data and program files Technical support: • Providing technical advice and training to faculty, staff and other stakeholders • Assist in IT training for staff and students. • Set up and maintain all hardware used by staff and pupils (desktops, laptops, printers, touchscreen computers). • Configuration and maintenance of the School’s management information system (Engage). • Configuration and maintenance of the School’s VLE (MS Teams). • Collaborate with external vendors and IT service providers. • Administration and troubleshooting of externally hosted IT services, such as Microsoft 365. • Providing online access to school promotional media (films). • Organising and archiving the school information systems. • Hosting the school website. • Website design is not essential but preferable. Policy development: • Creating and monitoring policies for digital education platforms, remote access, and other topics • Keep abreast of technological advancements and recommend upgrades or improvements to the network infrastructure. • Keep abreast of current regulations regarding technology use and ensure the school meets these requirements (e.g. GDPR). • Supporting the school in collecting information electronically to register new applicants when applying for a school place. Financial planning: • Working with the Finance Director to plan for IT upgrades and developments • Inventory management: Keeping track of equipment, computers, software licenses, and other assets Qualifications: • Degree level or equivalent or a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in an associated area • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills Experience: • Experience in using IT systems, including Windows client/server operating. Systems • A solid technical background with experience in designing, configuring, and Managing networks • Experience in managing a team • Experience working in a school or similar environment • Experience in managing projects If you are the ICT Network Manager we have been looking for, then apply today.
