This post is currently within the team that deals with the western part of Worthing and contains a diverse mix of residential, commercial and employment uses as well as valued open areas. It is an exciting time to work in planning at the Councils as there are a variety of planning challenges to be faced. The area is subject to significant development pressure and a number of major regeneration schemes are planned. Development Management Post: We are looking for a recently qualified or experienced Planning Officer to join our Development Management team and ideally you will be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. The successful candidate will need to have a good knowledge of the planning system and be able to deal with a high and varied caseload of planning applications. Knowledge of the Local Plan process is also desirable as the successful applicant will need to be able to apply the policies of the adopted Worthing Local Plan in determining planning applications. You will need to be adaptable and IT literate since the Council extensively uses digital platforms to provide its services.
