About the Opportunity:
Looking to take the next big step in your sales career, or bring your hard-earned experience to a role where it counts? We're after a sharp, results-driven Sales Manager to lead our Brisbane Concrete team. You'll be at the forefront, guiding a team of account managers to grow our customer base and maximise opportunities with existing clients. Your focus will be on delivering sales targets, executing strategies that align with our Commercial Plan, and building strong relationships with key clients, engineers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead from the Front: Motivate, guide, and support a team of sales professionals to achieve their best.
2. Develop Your Team: Identify strengths and gaps, ensure tailored training and development plans are in place, and create clear pathways for growth.
3. Drive Performance: Set clear targets for sales volumes, customer segments, and product mix, ensuring accountability through regular reviews and feedback.
4. Manage Key Accounts: Take ownership of a select group of high-value clients, building strong relationships and driving strategic growth opportunities.
5. Build a Strong Sales Culture: Foster a high-performance environment through continuous coaching, mentoring, and regular customer visits with account managers.
6. Succession Planning: Identify and develop future leaders within the team, working closely with the Sales and General Manager.
7. Customer Engagement: Ensure account managers have structured customer contact plans, and actively support them in building strong client relationships.
8. Performance Reviews: Conduct regular, meaningful performance discussions in line with company guidelines, focusing on growth and development.
About You:
You are a leader and a team player - someone who is passionate about driving sales performance and with solid, practical skills and knowledge in developing the capability of sales teams. You will know how to balance the immediate demands of meeting monthly targets with the long term strategy of building a strong brand and sales capability. You will demonstrate integrity, a positive attitude, and strong leadership skills throughout the sales process.
You will ideally have an established network within the concrete/aggregates or related sectors but if not, you will definitely know how to engender solid business relationships and have the ability to close down leads and build long term accounts. Engineering or commercial qualifications are desirable although by no means essential, but you must demonstrate successful team leadership of sales professionals.
You will be level-headed with exemplary standards of ethical conduct and professional judgment with a positive, resilient, curious, and goal-oriented nature. This will be complemented by your focus on coaching and developing others and by your clear ability to find ways to put together solutions that add value for your customers.
High proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and other systems required to do the role effectively are required and you will be assisted by your strong interpersonal and communication skills and by your understanding of the importance of and ability to effectively communicate and build relationships within the business.
