What You’ll Be Doing
Recruitment & Interviewing
1. Conduct technical and competency-based interviews with potential SMR Mobile Mechanics and candidates for other SMR roles.
2. Complete risk assessments for any pre-employment check flags within 48 working hours and submit them to HR.
3. Maintain accurate notes and outcomes in the Eploy system for all assessments and ride-outs.
Onboarding
1. Organise all onboarding for new starters, including:
2. Van and equipment allocation
3. Accommodation and induction arrangements
4. Uniform ordering
5. Call sign and IT account setup
6. Hire car booking
7. Support induction processes for both Mobile Mechanics and Contact Centre colleagues – including ride-outs for induction assessments.
8. Maintain effective communication channels with new joiners from first contact until fully onboarded.
Process Improvement
1. Continuously develop technical assessment and onboarding processes, ensuring they are evidence-driven and up to date.
2. Work closely with SMR Management, HR, and Training to enhance onboarding effectiveness.
3. Keep trackers and audit trails accurate and up to date across shared platforms.
What We’re Looking For
1. Proven background in interviewing, recruitment, and onboarding – essential
2. Strong knowledge of Technical Recruitment & Onboarding processes
3. Experience with field-based management and Technician roles
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – ability to engage with all levels internally and externally
5. Gravitas to influence and challenge stakeholders up to senior management level
6. Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and targets
7. Process improvement experience – a natural problem solver!
8. Target-driven with a fast-paced work ethic
9. Up-to-date technical knowledge of light motor vehicle repair – essential
