Job Title: Relief Machine Operator
Location: Sleaford
Pay Rates: Day shift £12.00 per hour, Night shift £12.22 per hour
Shift Patterns: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts, 06:00-18:00 or 18:00-06:00
Barker Ross is currently recruiting for a Relief Machine Operator for a client specializing in the paper industry. This is a Temporary to Permanent position. Your own transport is essential due to the location!
Main Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring the safety of themselves and others, conducting tasks in a safe way, following company SOPs and SSOWs, in addition to HSE guidelines.
2. Assist in the effective implementation of the production plan within the company.
3. Communicate any process or machine issues to the Shift Management Team (i.e., Production Supervisor / Production Managers).
4. Make the Shift Management Team aware of defects or improvements that may be required in respect of productivity and efficiency of the machine.
5. Ensuring product is produced at a high quality.
6. Effective and efficient setting up - unwrapping reels, loading the reels using the hoists, joining new and old reels, and winding join through (where applicable).
7. Working to work tickets ensuring you meet specifications and instructions.
8. Complete all relevant documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
9. Oversee all roles on the line to ensure; H&S, quality, efficiency, and reduced waste are being achieved.
10. Oversee and report any crew issues with regards to capability and timekeeping to the Production Manager/Production Supervisor.
11. Ensure you actively encourage others to comply.
12. Adhere to the GMP standards at all times and ensure the team complies.
Person Specification:
1. Experience of a production environment and ancillary equipment is desirable.
2. Excellent communicator (written and verbal) at all times.
3. Great attention to detail.
4. Organised and calm under pressure.
5. Friendly, approachable, and flexible - a team player.
6. Proactive, positive, enthusiastic - demonstrates a 'can do' attitude.
