About The Role FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Product Owner to work for our client within the Banking sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Bristol. As an experienced Product Owner, you will be working within our client’s Customer Data Services (CDS) Lab who are responsible for managing and delivering trusted customer data across the Group. CDS underpins key digital customer experiences and ensures the internal systems can access the right data, for the right purpose, at the right time. As a Product Owner you will be at the heart of their data transformation, leading the strategy and prioritisation of initiatives that affect everything from real-time customer insight to operational resilience. You will also be working in a dual-leadership model with an Engineering Lead to help shape both the business direction and the technical execution of the core customer data products. Responsibilities Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for customer data services, aligned with wider Group objectives Engage with business areas, engineering teams, and external platforms to shape how customer data is used, improved, and integrated Prioritise features and enhancements based on customer value, technical feasibility, and strategic alignment Lead planning sessions, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews to guide agile delivery Act as a key decision-maker, ensuring timely resolution of blockers and clear guidance to the team Work with the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) to align with enterprise data policies, particularly within the Producer/Consumer model About You Requirements Essential: Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role within a data or platform-centric environment Strong understanding of agile product delivery in complex technical domains Ability to communicate a compelling product vision and break it down into tangible, deliverable goals Comfortable managing competing priorities across business and technology teams Experience working with enterprise data platforms or services at scale Desirable: Familiarity with customer data platforms, APIs, event-driven architecture (Kafka), or master data management Experience with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud technologies Understanding of data quality management frameworks and metadata strategies Background in financial services, particularly in regulated environments About Us About FDM We are a business and technology consultancy and one of the UK's leading employers, recruiting the brightest talent to become the innovators of tomorrow.
