Business Architect – 12-month fixed-term contract
Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis.
Salary: Circa £75,000 depending on experience plus an excellent benefits package.
Location: Flexible – Offices in Swindon, Fareham, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and London.
The opportunity:
A fantastic opportunity is available to join the Zurich UK Architecture team as a Business Architect. In collaboration with the Lead Business Architect, you will work across the entire UK business, supporting the design of the overall Operating Model and contributing to strategic projects to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and business services.
What will you be doing?
* Collaborate with architects, project teams, and business members to develop solutions that meet business needs.
* Engage and influence key stakeholders across IT, business, and senior executives.
* Create business design documents and presentations using established formats and templates.
* Shape future strategy in conjunction with the architecture team.
* Facilitate the conceptualisation of Operational Transformation and Change programs.
* Identify opportunities for business improvement and standardisation across segments.
* Document current and future state architectures for various Enterprise Architecture domains.
* Monitor market trends to propose innovative solutions that enhance business value.
* Promote architectural principles, standards, and guidelines to stakeholders, providing consulting support.
* Lead or participate in architectural reviews and contribute to the Enterprise Architecture framework.
* Interact with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, project managers, and vendors.
* Translate business objectives into defined business cases in collaboration with stakeholders.
* Analyse complex operational data to make informed recommendations for business performance improvement.
* Contribute to functional strategy and develop business architecture standardisation methods aligned with global initiatives.
* Provide expert guidance to resolve complex customer cases and enhance service.
* Manage relationships with key stakeholders to foster engagement and leadership in design and development.
* Ensure successful project delivery by addressing business requirements and collaborating across teams.
* Solve internal customer issues in conjunction with partners and vendors.
* Exemplify corporate values through behaviours.
What are we looking for?
* IT Architecture Experience: Proven track record in designing and implementing IT architecture solutions that align with business goals, enhance system performance, and ensure scalability and security across the organisation.
* Architecture Accreditation: Desirable TOGAF certification demonstrating best practices.
* Organisational Design: Basic understanding of principles to optimise efficiency.
* Internal Influencer: Ability to negotiate and foster collaboration with internal clients.
* Effective Communication: Expert in simplifying complex information clearly.
* Organisational Knowledge: Deep insight into structure and objectives to align solutions.
* Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving issues.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Experience managing diverse stakeholder relationships.
* Change Management: Familiarity with principles to support organisational transformation.
* Strategic Thinking: Ability to align solutions with long-term business goals.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven effectiveness in working across departments.
* Data Analysis: Proficient in analysing data for informed decision-making.
* Continuous Improvement: Commitment to enhancing processes and driving innovation.
