We are currently recruiting for a Production (Filling) Operative to join our Minsterley site, to operate and run designated lines, achieve daily operations targets and maintain GMP standards.
Contract: Permanent / Full Time
Location: Minsterley - SY5 0BN (Shrewsbury)
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts, days and nights (2 blocks of days & 2 blocks of nights)
Salary: £30,174.00 per annum
The ideal candidate will have experience managing production lines, problem solving, fault findings within a food manufacturing environment and have a high level of attention to detail.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Supports to deliver the daily production plan for the line during shift worked
2. Operates plant/equipment, carrying out routine basic maintenance
3. Understands and works to achieve/exceed daily KPI targets
4. Ensures availability of materials and packaging
5. Works with Key Operators to carry out start up procedures, ensuring good manufacturing, housekeeping, hygiene, and health and safety standards throughout production
6. Ensures an effective hand over between shifts, remaining on line until relief takes over
7. Monitors product quality, highlighting non conformance and taking appropriate corrective action
8. Ensures SIC and Quality information is accurate, complete and timely
9. Completes all documentation, ensuring up to date and available
10. Trains operators, ensuring competence to perform allocated jobs
11. Leads by example encouraging appropriate behavioural standards in support of Company values and culture
12. Comply with food safety requirements, effectively control CCPs and adhere to site quality procedures
13. Maintaining Line/Area GMP standards looking to constantly improve
14. Take reasonable care for the health, safety and welfare of themselves and others that may be affected by their acts or omissions
15. To carry out any other duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed
16. Actively promote and comply with all Company Policies, Procedures and Values
Key skills & experience:
1. Problem identification and communication in a timely manner
2. Working on high speed / High volume machines and plant
3. Prioritisation of daily tasks
4. Previous machine experience from within a fast moving production environment is desirable
5. Teamwork & Collaboration
6. Right First Time (produces product to the required standard minimizing finished goods waste)
7. Controlling material losses
8. Adherence to Standards (GMP)
9. H&S Statistics (e.g. Accidents and Near Misses)
10. A good listener/communicator
11. Able to demonstrate initiative and prioritisation skills
