Job Role CSR Scientific Training is seeking a dedicated and experienced Governor to join our senior leadership team and contribute to shaping the strategic direction and enhancing the quality of our provision. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar governance role within education, healthcare or science and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, preferably including familiarity with Ofsted inspections. As a Governor, you would play a key role in ensuring high standards of training, compliance and learner success while supporting leadership in maintaining excellence. Additional training will be provided as needed to support the Governor role. Key Responsibilities Participate and attend senior leadership board meetings at least 4 times per year Support and strengthen CSR’s leadership and contribute to shaping its strategic direction Critically evaluate CSR’s Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan Hold senior leaders and managers accountable for improving the quality of learning and the effectiveness of performance management systems Ensure CSR complies with statutory responsibilities related to education and training Candidates with suitable safeguarding expertise and background may be required to attend CSR’s safeguarding meetings at least 4 times per year Oversee and monitor CSR’s financial performance Essential Attributes A strong commitment to enhancing educational outcomes for all learners A good understanding of governance structures and accountability Ability to provide both support and constructive challenge Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Desirable Attributes Experience in governance within the education sector Leadership experience in education, healthcare or science industries Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in the education sector (e.g. Ofsted) Expertise in human resources (HR) Financial awareness Salary: reasonable expenses paid
