Position:
An opportunity has arisen in the East Sector Estates Department for a suitably experienced Mechanical Technician within University Hospital Crosshouse, Kilmarnock.
What you will do:
1. Assist in the provision of a comprehensive multi-site installation, maintenance and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) service.
2. Maximise the efficiency and quality of the mechanical, electrical and environmental services of NHS Ayrshire & Arran using available resources.
3. Be part of a team reporting directly to the Mechanical Supervisor.
4. Deliver engineering services within a hospital environment and across community premises.
5. Demonstrate versatility and experience on a range of complex mechanical engineering maintenance work task schedules.
6. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
1. A City & Guilds Craft Certificate/Level 3 Certificate, or equivalent for the trade is essential.
2. Experience in building services within a hospital environment including heating, ventilation, air conditioning & decontamination would be an advantage.
3. Completion of a recognised apprenticeship and extensive experience in this field.
Hours:
37 hours per week
Shift Pattern:
8.00am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 1.30pm Friday.
You will also be required to take part in an on-call rota and be able to work at other hospitals within Ayrshire to meet the demands of the service. Due to the requirement to participate in an on-call rota, it is desirable that the successful applicant should live no more than 30 minutes travelling time from the hospital.
Driving licence/Car ownership:
Driving licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
